“Pro-porn” bloggers, et. al., should pay careful attention to how well Jen McCreight, of Boobquake fame, exposes anti-porn activists’ lies.
This is a post from Jen McCreight, an atheist “trapped in Indiana”. McCreight recently attended an Anti-Porn event hosted by several Christian organizations and the Purude Student Union Board. The event was held at Purdue University, a non-religious, state-assisted college, and drew hundreds of people.
As with most Christian “rallies”, the facts were skewed to “shock” Christians into behaving and disparaged sluts (aka non-married, sexually active individuals), non-Christians, and masturbators, According to the leaders of the convention, sexual activity and the legal viewing of porn will lead to sexual promiscuity, the demise of the economy, the end of morality, the destruction of the sacred institution of marriage, the skewing of the rightful roles of women as “helpers” and “receivers”, child pornography, and sexual abuse.
After spewing hateful lies about entire groups of people and making utterly unfounded conclusions about the effects of -gasp- embracing sexuality, the leaders of the event completely failed to mention any of the following: safe sex practices, other possible reasons for sexual promiscuity BESIDES being a heathen, the positive effects of a sexual relationship with clear lines of communication, and the fact that Jesus clearly emphasizes the need for his followers to love people rather than judge them. Nice.
